Season statistics have been released for the 2003 football season at Dana College in Blair, NE and freshman
defensive back Nathan WEEDA is among those recognized. WEEDA played in 10 of the 11 games of his first season with the
squad, making 28 solo tackles and 15 assisted tackles for a total of 43, the seventh best total on the team.
Marvin WOOLLUMS, current Iowa state champion from Mount Ayr, won the Eldora Horseshoe Pitching Tournament at the indoor
courts in Eldora Saturday. WOOLLUMS went undefeated, winning the Class A championship with a 66.97 ringer percentage.
Ringgold County's astronaut, Dr. Peggy WHITSON of Houston, TX, was on hand at the National Aeronautics and Space
Administration (NASA) headquarters in Washington, D.C. last week when President George W. Bush committed the United
States to a long-term human and robotic program to explore the solar system, starting with a return to the
moon that will ultimately enable future exploration of Mars and other destinations.
