The Mount Ayr Tennis Club has recognized and elected officers for the coming year as follows: Chas. A. Hetzel, president, and Darrell STANLEY, secretary-treasurer.

W. H. McFARLAND, president of the Mount Ayr Co-operative Club has appointed a committee of five to assist Fred L. LUCE, census supervisor for the Fifth Congressional District. Members are C. E. HOLLOPETER, chairman; J. A. BEARD, Earl T. HOOVER, Franklin SPURRIER and Clyde LESAN.

REDDING - The Mutual Telephone Company met Tuesday and elected Mrs. Earl PROCTOR as operator at Redding for the next year.

The Homemaking Club of Mount Ayr High School held an interesting program of personality rating on Valentine's Day. Every member was rated by those present on ten points -- personal attractiveness, emotional control, initiative and responsibility, purposeful thinking, trustworthiness, leadership ability, service, social adaptability, speech and voice and health. Lorraine LILES was given the honor of the highest percentage, and Madonna CAIN and Dorothy FULLER tied for second.

  • Born, February 13 to Mr. and Mrs. Alden SAVILLE, a son, Darrell Lee. Weight, seven pounds.
  • Born, February 22, to Mr. and Mrs. Rex SICKELS, of Washington township, a daughter. Weight, seven and one-half pounds.
