One mother-daughter duo in the Pillsbury Bake-off national competition through the years might
not be so unusual but a triplicate, scored by members of the M. J. WILKINS family of Tingley, is considered
a rarity. Now that Shelly BOCINSKI (Mrs. Mark), 26, of Wheaton, IL has qualified for this year's bake-off, she
joins the elite company of her mother, Margaret WILKINS, and her older sister, Marla MASON (Mrs. Leonard) of
Cedar Rapids.
Royalty for Grand Valley Community
high school's homecoming celebration Saturday night, Jan. 16, were queen Racinda JACKSON and king Darren
CAMPBELL. They were crowned by last year's king and queen -- Dawn HEWLETT and Jeff BEDIER -- at the dance
which followed a boys and girls basketball double header with Mount Ayr. JACKSON is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Dick JACKSON of rural Kellerton and CAMPBELL is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry CAMPBELL of Kellerton.
LBanks WILSON and Jay WATSON, owners and operators of
Wilson-Watson Funeral Home of Mount Ayr, Diagonal and Clearfield, will be welcoming Bill Armstrong as an employee
on February 1. ARMSTRONG is a licensed funeral director and embalmer who comes to MountAyr from Norwalk where
he has been employed at McLarens Funeral Home. He and his family expect to move to Mount Ayr this weekend.
Marc ROBERTS of Mount Ayr began duties January 4 as career agent for Ringgold County Farm Bureau Insurance.
ROBERTS has passed all the necessary tests to be licensed in life, health, personal and commercial policies.
ROBERTS and his wife, Teresa, have lived in Mount Ayr since November of 1984. Teresa is director of finance
at the Ringgold County Hospital. ROBERTS is a member of the Mount Ayr volunteer fire department and bowls in
several leagues.
