Newly elected officers of the Junior Farmers 4-H Club are Robert McCREARY, president; Ralph WATSON, vice-president; Rex LESAN, secretary-treasurer; and, Merritt TRIGGS, reporter.

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence WARDRIP, of Benton, announce the marriage of their daughter, Vergene J., to Carroll SMITH, son of Mr. and Mrs. Homer SMITH, of Poe township. The ceremony was performed by Rev. J. W. Campbell, on June 1, at Hiawatha, KS. The young couple will be at home on a farm south of Mount Ayr in Middle Fork township.

Ringgold county's first farm-to-market road to be built under the state farm-to-market road bill enacted by the 49th General Assembly, was completed Tuesday. The road from the Ringgold-Decatur county line runs a distance of three and one-half miles.

TINGLEY - At commencement exercises held Monday at Iowa State College [present-day Iowa State University] in Ames, Robert SHEUMAKER, son of Dr. and Mrs. H. D. SHEUMAKER, was graduated with a degree in veterinary medicine.

  • Born, to Mr. and Mrs. John LEWIS, of Lansing, Mich., June 13, a daughter, Charlotte Ann. Mrs. LEWIS will be remembered as the former Esther MOFFATT.
