Myron ROGERS recently accepted a position as public relations director and employment manager for The Kelly-Springfield Tire Company in Freeport, IL.

Clyde BRAND and John DENHART received awards last week from the Standard Oil Company for "faithful service to the motoring public." The awards were presented by Wayne M. SNYDER, sales representative for the company. DENHART'S award was for 14 years and BRAND'S was for 12 years.

Bill PRITCHARD, junior high mathematics instructor and boys coach of the Mount Ayr Community Schools, was included among the approximately 125 teachers from Iowa who attended a Local Leaders Conference held Augut 12-14, at Iowa State University in Ames.

Doyle DENHART, of Mount Ayr, has been appointed as area fieldman for the Iowa Farmers Union. This announcement wa made in Mount Ayr Tuesday by Kenneth SCHUMAN, state president of the organization.

BIRTHS REPORTED FROM RINGGOLD COUNTY HOSPITAL:

  • a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Lyle POwELL
  • a son to Mr. and Mrs. Dale Ray FEARNOT
  • a son to Mr. and Mrs. Burl E. MULLOCK
  • a son to Mr. and Mrs. Eldon E. CAMPBELL
  • a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Harold Lee HARDING
