Miller CHRISTIANSEN, president of the Security State Bank in Mount Ayr, leaves today for Fort Logan, near the city of Denver, Colo., where he will enter active services with the army with the rank of captain. Mr. CHRISTIANSEN was located at Fort Logan during World War I. Mrs. CHRISTENSEN, Curtis and Joan will vacation in Colorado before returning to their home in Mount Ayr.

A large crowd enjoyed the Fall Festival and Bond Sale held Friday in Redding. The program included selections by the Blockton-Redding martial band; talks by Chas. J. LEWIS, Judge George A. JOHNSTON, Roger F. WARIN and Capt. Frank MILES; music by the Ringgold County Women's Chorus with Mary Lou RUSH as soloist; an old fiddler's contest and an auction in which defense stamps were used as a medium of exchange. The program was under the direction of Mrs. O. L. FULLERTON and C. O. RHOADES served as master of ceremonies.

During a meeting of the Iowa Retailers Jewelers Association held Sunday in Des Moines, Harry GUNTER, local jeweler, was elected president of the Iowa Horological Association.

Mrs. Olive BISHOP is receiving instruction in lathe work and mechanics in Creston and will complete the twelve weeks' course in eight weeks.

Diagonal - Mr. and Mrs. James CAMPBELL are the parents of a daughter, born Aug. 14. Weight, seven pounds.
