Septemberfest is the name of the new Kellerton festival planned Saturday. The Kellerton Fun Day, held in August in the past, has been moved to the fall and proceeds this year go to the Kellerton First Responders.
Half the concrete bases for the new horseshoe pitching court for Judge Lewis Park in Mount Ayr have been poured as work on some park renovations continues here.
The contention that documents provided to the Mount Ayr Community school board by superintendent Phil Burmeister but not provided to the public should be public record has been upheld from the Iowa Attorney General's
office recently. [i.e., regarding the investigation into the high school auditorium fire]
One community improvement project was given the green light, while one went back to the drawing board at a meeting of the Mount Ayr city council Monday night. The Mount Ayr city council agreed to pick up the
difference so a project to light the newly remodeled west softball field at Judge Lewis Park can go forward.
Official work from the Iowa Catholic Bishop's office came this week giving approval for the construction of a new St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mount Ayr.
