Mount Ayr Community high school has two exchange students, Ari KNUUTI of Rovaniemi, Finland, and Sophia BLAAGAARD of Svendborg, Denmark. KNUUTI makes his home with the Janis and Larry DENNEY family of Mount Ayr, and BLAAGAARD with the Jim and Carol McCREARY family of Beaconsfield.

For the second year in a row the Mount Ayr Community high school Raider Marching Band has received a division I rating at the state marching band contest. Marty ALDRICH is the director of the band and John McGILLIGAN directs the percussion section and flag team.

BENNETT Farms in Liberty township have been designated as a "Century Farm" by the Iowa Farm Bureau and were honored at the Iowa State Fair this pst summer. Charles BENNETT, Robert BENNETT, Charles Wesley BENNETT and Cyndi BENNETT SOBOTKA and Cyndi's sons, Michael and Robert, represent four generations of BENNETT descendants now living on the farm.
