Mildred (Mrs. Jack) ELLIOTT and her granddaughter, Angela ELLIOTT of Mount Ayr, will be among the 200 Iowans who will be attending the inauguaration of United States president-elect George Bush this Friday, Jan. 20, in Washington, D.C. Mildred ELLIOTT will be attending her third inaugural. her two invitations to the events came following her services as Fifth District coordinator of the Bush campaign. She has invited Angela to accompany her to Washington, D.C. as a high school graduation gift from Mildred and Jack ELLIOTT. Angela, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Craig ELLIOTT of Mount Ayr, is a high school senior and will graduate from Mount Ayr Community high school this spring. Angela ELLIOTT was a page at this past year's Republican convention held in New Orleans, LA and also was a page at the 1986 National Republican Women's Convention held in Orlando, FL.

On Sunday, Jan. 22, the Tingley Presbyterian Church will celebrate 100 years since the dedication of the church building. Tingley Presbyterian Church celebrated the centennial of its organization (July 12, 1883) during the centennial celebration of the town of Tingley in July 1983. Six years later a church building was erected and the present structure was dedicated on Sunday, Feb. 3, 1889.

A former Mount Ayr Community high school girls basketball player will be playing with a college team in the area next week. Kim McGINNIS, who graduated last spring from Mount Ayr Community high school, will be playing with the Tarkeo Lady Owls basketball team when it takes on Graceland College in Lamoni.
