A project of sixth grade art classes in the Mount Ayr Community elementary school this year are robots, in conjunction with an emphasis on learning about computers that the classes
have had and as part of American Education Week now being held in the school. Other classes voted on the robot projects of the sixth graders and awarded first place to
Tobor, a giant creation of sixth graders Brent McCLURE, Neil WEEHLER, Donnie POLLOCK and Billie HIGHTSHOE.
Carl G. RIGGS, chairman of the board of the Tingley State Savings Bank, Mount Ayr and Tingley, announced that W. Dale MAUDLIN of Saint Joseph, MO has been appointed to the
bank's board of directors.
Like father, like son might describe the hunting skill of Bill DAUGHTON and son, Matt, who each got deer with bow and arrow in hunting recently. Matt's buck was a nine-pointer,
however, outdistancing his dad's six-pointer.
On Sunday, Nov. 7, Sandy SCHOLTZHAUER, daughter of Lloyd and Mary STEPHENS, was on of 1,020 runners lining up for Kansas City's annual Macy's Marathon. Sandy finished 13th in
her age group (30-39), which included the top three women runners, in a time of four hours and eight minutes.

A daughter, born Nov. 15, to Mr. and Mrs. Kirk GOLLIDAY, Mount Ayr.
