Two days of filming was edited to seven minutes of story time for an Iowa Public Television piece about the Diagonal
school district and how it is coping as one of the smallest school districts in the state. The segment appeared on
"Living in Iowa," as the first of a series of five reports on education in the state.
Elected to three-year terms on the community board of directors for the Ringgold County Teen Center Upper Limits were
John LARSON, Cindy JOHNSON and Robin McDONNELL. Other board members are Darrell DODGE, Jodie GIEST, Clint SPURRIER,
Mitzi HYMBAUGH, Dr. Dan WEEDLE and Michell RICKER.
Members of the Mount Ayr Community high school academic bowl team will try to repeat as conference champions when the
Pride of Iowa academic bowl is hld January 24. There are six members of the academic bowl team this year. They
include Elijah TERRELL, Clara TERRELL, Janice WEDDLE, Sean KILGORE, Amy HYNEK and Joey RUSK. Brian TERRELL is the
sponsor for the academic bowl team.
The Ringgold County Public Board of Health recently received a Governor's Volunteer Award, which recognized the dedicated
volunteer service of county public health boards. Dr. Bruce RICKER of Mount Ayr received the award from Lt. Governor
Sally PEDERSON on behalf of the county group.
