Mrs. J. M. ANDERSON was re-elected president of the Rose Hill Cemetery Association during its annual meeting held Friday afternoon in the courthouse assembly room. Other officers re-elected were Mrs. H. B. ELLIS, secretary, and Mrs. W. T. TIMBY, treasurer.

The Roe Implement Company announces the purchase of the Mrs. J. A. LOGAN residence property. The house has been re-sold to Earl SICKELS for removal to his lots on Lincoln Street, just north of his present residence.

Lymnan LARSEN is busy contacting farmers in the interest of the establishment of milk routes for a proposed cheese factory in Mount Ayr. Mr. LARSEN'S services were engaged by the industrial committee of the Mount Ayr Businessmen's Club.

Howard L. MARTIN of Mount Ayr was one of 11 Future Farmers of America to be recommended to receive the organization's highest degree, that of American Farmer, at the 30th national convention of FFA in Kansas City, MO.

Repesenting the Mount Ayr chapter at the convention Tuesday and yesterday were Leland RAUCH, president; Bob JONES, vice president; Jim SMITH, secretary; Ryland GARNER, treasurer; Kenneth HERREN, reporter; Marvin LANE, sentinel; and Supt. HANSEN and Mr. HAUPTMANN.

Richard WILSON, 19, will be one of two 4-H members from Iowa who will go to the National 4-H Conference next June in Washington, D.C.

On October 1, neighbors went to the Ernest HEGGS farm in Athens township and combined beans.

Contracts were let last week for the construction of a basement and vestibule at Wishard Chapel, located mile miles north of Mount Ayr on Highway 169.

Births Reported at Ringgold County Hospital this week:

  • A son, Earl Dean, born Oct. 11, to Mr. and Mrs. Eugene McALEXANDER, Beaconsfield
  • A daughter, Jeanie Mae, born Oct. 11, to Mr. and Mrs. Howard BURGHER, Ellston.
  • A son, Grant Emerson, born Oct. 13, to Mr. and Mrs. Dale WARD, Lamoni.
  • A daughter, Phyllis Jean, born Oct. 13, to Mr. and Mrs. Roland MAUDLIN, Grant City, MO.
  • A son, Lee Dale, born Oct. 15, to Mr. and Mrs. Keigh NIGH, Sheridan, MO.
