A capacity crowd attended theannual Blue Grass Conference Basketball Jamboree held Saturday night in Mount Ayr, and
saw teams from the West -- Greenfield (guest school), Bedford, Lenox, East Union and Mount Ayr -- defeat the East
Schools -- Lamoni, Leon, Seymour, Morman Trail and Corydon -- 104 to 82. The East Union and Mount Ayr teams
tallied 53 points, or over half of the total score, for the winners.
The veteran Diagonal Maroons dropped the Mount Ayr Raiders in a twin bill on the local floor, Tuesday night, in the
Raider opener. The Maroon varsity raced past the Raiders, 65 to 47, and the visiting reserves won, 46 to 39.
