Roy Lepley chairman of the Ringgold County AAA committee, has been named chairman of the Ringgold County Agricultural Defense Board. Other memebers of the board in Ringgold county are Royce Davis, Earle K. Allyn and J. Clifford Johnson.

The consolidation of Mounty Ayr's rural routes will go into effect August 1, when W. W. Poor retires after having served as carrier on Route 2 out of Mount Ayr for 34 years. The present four routes will be consolidated into three nearly equal ones of about 48 miles each. Carriers will be J. E. Bradley, Alvin Lamoreaux and Leo C. Laird.

Hale Johnson went Tuesday to Creston, where he has employment with Armor Creameries.

Lois Elliott went Monday to Des Moines, where she began work as a stenographer in the office of the State Department of Agriculture.

The Hon. John M. Grimes, publisher of the Osceola Sentinel, will deliver the principal address at the Old Timers Reunion to be held today (Thursday).

MALOY - Marshal Matthews has announced his marriage to Dorothy Dalton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gail Dalton, of Benton, on May 3, at Maryville, MO. Mr. Matthews, son of A. J. Matthews, and his bride will make their home in Oregon, MO. where he will teach in the high school.

TINGLEY - Marian Sheumaker has accepted a position as head of the speech department in the Cedar Falls High School.

BIRTHS:

  • WISHARD CHAPEL - Mr. and Mrs. Howard Wimer are the parents of a nine and one-half pound daughter, Pauline Janet, born July 2.
  • Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd England are the proud parents of a nine and one-half pound baby boy, born Wednesday.
