Three Ringgold County ASCS community committee men were honored Thursday in Mount Ayr for 30 years of service to
agriculture. They are John BUCK of Washington township; Albert GOLDNER of Liberty township and Ora JAMES of
Middle Fork township. Each was presented a certifiate of service award, a courtesy of the county ASCA committee.
Grant L. HAYES, local attorney, was the guest of honor Friday night of Faith Lodge No. 179, A.F. and A.M., where he has
been a member for 50 years. Mr. HAYES was presented a 50-year certificate and a lapel pin by C.W. (Bill) HORNE,
worshipful master.
Martha CARR, freshman at Ottumwa Heights College, Ottumwa, served as accompanist for the school's college choral
club composed of 50 voices and the semi-chorus, which, with the string emsemble, presented a concert of Christmas
music Sunday evening in the college auditorium.
Student Ayr -- Mount Ayr Thespians Troupe 2918 met December 8 to initiate 10 new members: Jeane BLACK, Larry
CRAWFORD, Dan SICKELS, Tom KELLY, Lynn CRAWFORD, Phyllis PETERSOHN, David NEAS, Nanci FOLTZ, Alan HUNTER and Art ALLEN.
TINGLEY -- Mr. and Mrs. Max ANDERSON of Mount Ayr received Friday by adoption from Hillcrest, a Methodit home
in Dubuque, a son, Kelly Lynn, who was born December 3. Mr. and Mrs. Cyril GREENE of Tingley are the maternal grandparents.
