A new shelter house with a front porch is being built to replace a shelter house damaged by a wind storm last year at Fife's Grove Park north of Mount Ayr.
Five new faculty members at the Mount Ayr Community high school this year include April Kerychuk, Kurt Wallace, Dana Morris, Stacey Andresen and Jessica Frost.
Mount Ayr Community high school graduate Camron Collier was presented with the Mount Ayr Chamber of Commerce scholarship at the recent meeting of the group.
Vera Wilkins, Albert Drake and Helen Mercer were honored fot their many years of dedicated service during a state fair celebration at the Clearview Home last week.
