At the close of the tag sale held Saturday in the interest of the Iowa Children's Home Society, Mrs. Lillie J. RUSK, who was in charge of the project, reported that Ruth DENNIS was entitled to the first prize; Roberta FARIS won second; and the third place winner was Harriet SMITH.

Charles BOWMAN, who has been employed at the Warin Service Station near Maloy, left Thursday for Los Angeles, CA, where hehas enrolled in an aviation school.

Reed BLISS, son of Mr. and Mrs. John A. BLISS, of Mount Ayr, placed third in the senior and open rubber power division in the model airplane races held Saturday at the Municipal Airport in Des Moines. Reed has built approximately 200 miniature planes during the past few years.

Fifty-two head of Ringgold County livestock have been entered in the National Livestock Show to be held in conjunction with the Iowa State Fair. Exhibitors are Robert BASTOW, Irving BROTHERS, R. K. McCREARY and Merritt TRIGGS, of Mount Ayr; Frank CHANDLER and Ted DUFFIELD, of Kellerton, and Jesse STEPHENS, of Maloy.

FRY CHAPEL -- The Bethlehem Star W.C.T.U. [Women's Christian Temperance Union] has elected the following new officers: president, Mrs. Lena CLEWELL; secretary, Cleora OLNEY; treasurer, Mrs. Mabel FRY; and flower committee woman, Mrs. Gladys WOOD.
