A Mount Ayr student at the University of Kansas has received three scholarships announced for the fall 1990 semester. Shelly TAYLOR, daughter of Steve and Cheryl TAYLOR of Mount Ayr, received the Richard R. Riss Sr. scholarship, the Kansas Coviety of CPA's scholarship and the Nell D. Weaver scholarship. TAYLOR is a senior in the school of business and was one of 3,246 students who received scholarships for the fall semester.

Seats for two matinees are available for the Broadway music revue being presented at Mount Ayr Community high school this week. A matinee is scheduled for 1 p.m. and a dessert matinee is scheduled for Saturday.

Thanks to Perry HONEYCUTT, a sergeant in the United States Army serving in West Germany, a piece of concrete was chipped fromthe Berlin Wall, at Checkpoint Charlie on Dec. 15, 1989, and was sent to a friend, Master Sergeant Cecil R. SUBLETT at Fort Des Moines.
