Mount Ayr Community Future Farmers of America have been working on a landscaping project to beautify the Ringgold county
courthouse square. The students are planting shrubs in various areas around the courthouse in this phase of the
beautification project, which also includes number of flower beds on the square.
There were 30 riders in the annual Cystic Fibrosis bike ride held Sunday afternoon around the square in Mount Ayr. Riders
rode around the square, with laps being counted toward donations for the battle to fight cystic fibrosis.
Grand Valley Community high school will be graduating 17 seniors at a ceremony to be held Sunday, May 18. Valedictorian
Tracy LESAN will address the group. Salutatorian is Jack VANDERFLUGHT.
Diagonal-Clearfield high school will graduate
19 at a ceremony to be held this Saturday, May 17,in the Diagonal new gymnasium. Valedictorians are: from Diagonal-
Todd TAYLOR and Clearfield - Dan THOMSON. Salutatorians are: from Diagonal - Lesa STEPHENS and from Clearfield - Angela
SPURRIER.
The AMES Family Band from LaVista, NE will appear on Country
Roots Today radio show on WOW-59 Country, Omaha, NE on Sunday, May 18. Mrs. Ames is the former Thelma BLACK, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Dale BLACK of Mount Ayr.
Members of the state champion junior bowling team from Mount Ayr are Robbie HALEY, Judd BOWEN, Billy WELLING, captain Aaron
GROVES, Brent BABCOCK and team alternate Casey SCOTT.
