A deal was concluded Friday whereby Ed WILKERSON sold his livery and feed business located on Depot Street ot Joseph FORQUER and son, with possession being given yesterday. Mr. FORQUER will manage the barn and team service and his son will have charge of the automobile livery.

A Children's Day program will be presented June 20, at Hazel Glenn, and among those who will take part are Paul, William and Alden SHIDLER, Earl CAMPBELL, Foster HALL, Otto TENNANT, Vera RAINS, Grace CAMPBELL, John COVERDALE, Leo RAINS, Ethel and Esther CABARET, Arma FINGER, William RAINS, Harry ZENTZ and Mary DINKEL.

George F. OLNEY returned Friday from Sharpsburg, where he has been employed in a garage and has accepted a position with Sam FRAZIER in the garage of the Mount Ayr Auto Company.

Among the 413 persons who received degrees and certificates during the fourth annual commencement exercises at Iowa State College [present-day Iowa State University] in Ames are Edith BLISS, home economics, and Frank H. BLISS, Diagonal, animal husbandry, and M. H. MANNING, Kellerton, two-year collegiate agricultural.

Attorney George H. FINLEY has been appointed justice of the peace to succeed Major D. B. MARSHALL, who is critically ill.

Jennie Marie JAMISON has signed a contract to take the position of Latin and ancient history teacher in the Mount Ayr High School, which was made vacant by the resignation of Mary ANDERSON.

Among those who will take part in a Children's Day program to be presented at the Baptist Church are Gladys GLEASON, Geo. D. MOFFAT, Genevieve GLEASON, Mandel TROTTER, Ruth and Joe ROBINSON, Pearl MATTHEWS, Helyn GLEASON, Mrs. L. W. LAUGHLIN, Lurine MURRAY, Lousie ROBINSON, Hazel DUGAN, Cleo BASTOW, Marie BASTOW, Minnie STROBEL, Lucile TROTTER, Geraldine LAUGHLIN, Charles DAILY and Chester W. DARROW.

Howard SNEDAKER will leave Saturday for Salt Lake City, Utah, where he has a position as electrical engineer.

Charles TEALE has sold twenty new buggies since opening the spring trade.

Mrs. Florence GUESS, who for about four years has been employed as operator in the office of the Mount Ayr Mutual Telephone Company, has accepted a position in the office of the Bell Telephone Company in Des Moines. Irene HETZE, who works in the office during the afternoons, will take her place.

DELPHOS - Newly elected officers of the Baptist Young People's Union for the next six months are: President, Warren S. WRIGHT; vice-president, O. C. VARNER; secretary, Mrs. B. F. SEATON; and treasurer, Hugh SEATON.

KELLERTON - B. O. MEADOWS has decided to stay in Kellerton and has rented J. L. HANKINS' barbershop, taking possession Tuesday.

Coy HAVELY has been employed as clerk in the post office and began work Monday.

Silas EGLY, who has been attending a law school in New York City, recently sent a card to I. J. DALBEY stating that he had graduated and was now a full fledged attorney.

DIAGONAL - Born, to Mr. and Mrs. Willie BROWN, living north of Knowlton, Friday evening, a baby boy.

DIAGONAL - A baby boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. Ernest McQUIRE Saturday morning.

DIAGONAL - Mr. and Mrs. Temple MERRITT, living east of town, are the proud parents of a baby girl, born Monday morning.
