Among the grand champion market livestock winning top honors at the Ringgold County Fair last week were: Matthew WEEDA showing the grand champion market lamb; Holly ENGLAND showing the grand champion market beef; and Matthew WEEDA showing the grand champion market swine.

Chelsea CAMPBELL of Shannon City was crowned queen of the 2004 Ringgold County Fair and Ashton QUICK of Tingley was crowned fair princess at the fair's evening of entertainment Thursday night.

The Neat Freaks were the winners out of six teams taking part in the mud volleyball tournament at the Ringgold County Fair. Members of the team were: Kelli GOODALE, Trent JOHNSTON, Chad SCHALPIA, Bobbi SCHLAPIA, Rob GRAHAM and Clint WIMER.

It's on to the second round of the Class 2A district baseball tournament for the Mount Ayr Community Raiders after an opening round win in Mount Ayr Monday night.

The girls dropped their final Pride of Iowa conference game to East Union 5-2 Thursday night, went 1-2 in the Murray tournament and opened with the Creston tournament with a loss this week.
