A deal was consumated the past week whereby J.H. SMITH and C.D. LAMB became owners of Pete's Beer Parlor on Depot
Street, which has been owned and operated for the past three years by Ray PETERSON.
John WELAND, instructor, has organized a small band of upper classmen to assist the boosters during pep meetings.
Members are Mary Louise HOGUE, Arlene THOMPSON, Betty Jo STAMPER, Denzil WAUGH, Ellen WILSON, Robert McCreary,
Donella TAYLOR, Marion RICHARDS and Mary SPENCER.
Ringgold County farmers who have entered the ten-acre corn yield contest, which is being sponsored by the
Farm Bureau, are Lester MORRIS, KEPLING Brothers and W.E. LYNCH, of Maloy; W.A. JOHNSON and M.F. SWANSON, of
Shannon City; Clifford NICHOLS and C.A. PRELENFEIN, of Mount Ayr; Glade DOWLIN, of Blockton; A. Albert ALLEN,
of Tingley; Ivan CLARK, of Diagonal; Walter CORLISS, of Clearfield; and H.K. BAKER, of Beaconsfield.
