C. A. BEAKER, who has been employed in the harness making department of the A. A. HUGGINS' implement store, has resigned his position and will open a
harness shop tomorrow in the John HORNE building on the west side of the square.
Maurice KEATING left the latter part of the week for Minneapolis, MN., where he has accepted a position with the Hudson-Thurber Company.
Hilda BROWN, who for a little more than a year, has been employed in the Record-News office, resigned her position and went yesterday to
Des Moines, where she expects to attend a business college and study shorthand and typing.
KNOWLTON - W. H. WRIGHT, Jr. arrived Thursday from Seymour and began his work as principal of the Knowlton school on Monday.
KELLERTON - Members of the C.W.B.M. met recently and elected the following officers: President, Mrs. Frances LEWIS; vice-president, Mrs. Orpha SMITH;
secretary, Mrs. J. W. MEADOWS; treasurer, Mrs. L. L. DADY; division leaders, the Mesdames Chas. HAMPTON, J. R. FRISBY and S. B. HEDGES. Esther McCLEARY
has been employed as lady clerk of the Tway store and began work this morning.
MALOY - Charles CARLTON, of Sheridan, MO., came Friday to begin work in the blacksmith shop here. J. B. STROBEL, rural route carrier, recently received
permission from the post office department to serve his route using his automobile. He is now able to make the trip in about three hours.
SHANNON CITY - Reed CULBERTSON has sold his restaurant to Chas. FRANKLIN. He also sold his farm North of Afton and purchased the old home place of his father.
HIGH SCHOOL NOTES - The juniors held a class meeting Wednesday evening and elected the following officers: President, Frank KEATING; vice-president,
Reba ROBERTS; and secretary-treasurer, Stella WRIGHT. At the beginning of the school year, it was decided that all girls desiring to take manual
training could do so and as a result, four - Portia PARKER, Pauline STEPHENSON, Gladys JACOBS and Ruth FLYNN - have enrolled. Newly elected officers of
the senior class are: Earl HORNE, president; Mary BUCK, vice-president; and Birdice KING, secretary-treasurer.

REDDING - Ross BAIRD and wife are rejoicing over the arrival of a new girl on the 14th.
SHANNON CITY - Born, to Mr. and Mrs. John WISER, a baby girl.
KELLERTON - Mr. and Mrs. D. C. LEWIS are the parents of a little daughter, born to them on September 11.
KELLERTON - Mr. and Mrs. Jesse FOLTZ are the parents of a fine little son, born September 8.
KNOWLTON - Born, September 9, to Mr. and Mrs. J. H. YARYAN, a ten-pound baby boy.
