What is known as the D. A. VAUGHN 120-acre farm, located three and one-half miles west of Mount Ayr on Highway 2, was sold Monday at public auction to Nick and Evelynne DUROS of Mount Ayr for $155 per acre. The household goods of the VAUGHNS were also sold. The sales were conducted by Orlo VAUGHN, executor; Dennis OWENS and Jack and Raymond HUTCHINSON, auctioneers; Grant L. HAYES, attorney, and Mr. and Mrs. Kermit MILLER, clerks.

David LYNCH of Maloy and Judith HALEY of Diagonal have been selected as the 4-H club members of Ringgold county to receive the KSIB Record Book Awards for 1963. Judith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry HALEY, is a member of the Jefferson Happy Home Hustlers 4-H Club. A member of the Maloy Shamrocks 4-H Club, David is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Bob LYNCH

Open house will be observed Saturday, Nov. 16, at the Community Meat Processor's new processing plant and slaughter house in Mount Ayr. The plant is located just north of Highways 169 and 2 in southwest Mount Ayr. Community Meat Processors is owned and operated by Ross CRAFT and Sherrill STEPHENS.

A loan of $700,000 to the Grand River Mutual Cooperative at Princeton, MO by the Rural Electrification Administration has been approved according to an announcement by Congressman John Kyl. The loan will provide dial service to 2,760 of the cooperative's customers in Appanoose, Clarke, Decatur, Ringgold, Wayne and Lucas counties.
