Duane MITCHELL, M.D. and Sudhir MARFATIA, M.D. announced the opening of a general practice in Clearfield, in cooperation with Professional Evaluation and Treatment Services of Southern Iowa, Inc. Treatment of patients will begin in July.
Drs. MITCHELL and MARFATIA reported that Natu PATEL, M.D. will join the group practice in August.
Teresa DILLENBURG, 14-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin DILLENBURG of Mount Ayr, will be participating in the
International Special Olympics to be held in August in Brockport, NY. She will be part of a 48-member Iowa team and will be
in the softball throw.
Ringgold county's new pork queen is 19-year-old Peggy WHITSON, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Keith WHITSON of Beaconsfield
and a student at Wesleyan College. She assumes the crown from Diana TRIGGS.
The Youth Community Resource Development Program, in its fifth year in the Midwest Area, will have an aide, Bobbi RUSK,
working in the local communities of Tingley and Ellson. The program is designed to give youth an opportunity to explore
their community, identify problems and opportunitites and to plan and initiate action in these area.
Amy FRENCH, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill FRENCH, was installed as worthy advisor of the Mount Ayr Rainbow Assembly
May 27 at the Masonic Temple.
Mr. and Mrs. Sherrill STEPHENS of Mount Ayr will be observing their 40th wedding anniversary at an open house June 24.
Graduating from the Nebraska College of Business in Omaha were Lori Jean KING, fashion merchandising, and Nancy Ann
SHIELDS, office specialist.
Winners in the women's two-ball golf tournament Tuesday at the Mount Ayr Golf and Country Club were Helen CLEM and
Joy SPARGUR of Creston. They shot 89.
