RETOLD OLD NEWS

Mount Ayr Record-News
Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa
Thursday, July 14, 1939

Kasey Dredge, Mount Ayr Record-News

With the completion of the rock surfacing of the road north of Redding last week, Mount Ayr became accessible to all towns in the county over surfaced road. There are now 95 miles of all-weather secondary roads in the county.

Henry O. LOVETT, who was the first president of the Security State Bank and the one who took the lead in organizing it two years ago, has resigned from the board of directors. Shortly after the local bank was reorganized, Mr. LOVETT secured a position as chief executive of the First National Bank in Fairfield. A successor to Mr. LOVETT will be selected at the next directors' meeting.

The board of supervisors of Ringgold county allowed 1,493 applications for homestead tax credit at its regular July session, which number is 67 more than made application by June 1st of last year. Twelve applications were disallowed.
