Willie ADAMS, who has been serving as child welfare worker for the state of Iowa in the counties of Decatur, Ringgold and Taylor, assumed his duties Monday as director of social welfare of Ringgold County. Mr. ADAMS was appointed to fill the vacancy caused by the sudden death of Roe MAIN on the first of December. Members of the board of social welfare reappointed for 1965 are Floyd CREVELING and John BOYD and a new member of the board, Mrs. Earl STANLEY of Kellerton, who replaces Mrs. Clyde LESAN, a member since 1937 when the board was established.

Mrs. Ronald CONLEY was instaled Friday as acting postmaster of Maloy. Mrs. Frank CARR had served as acting postmaster since Mrs. Marea SHEIL retired June 1, 1964, after 25 years of service as postmaster of the Maloy post office.

Mr. and Mrs. Roe BURRELL took their son, Bob, to Des Moines Sunday, where he assumed the duties of page in the Senate on Monday, the opening session of the 61st General Assembly.

Mrs. Hugh TERWILLINGER assumed the duties of half-time typist on January 4 in the local Social Welfare office.

Included on the Dean's list for the fall quarter at Iowa State University in Ames were three Ringgold County students, Paul G. LAY, James D. DENHART and Joseph W. DENHART.
