Approximately 200 children participated in the annual Easter egg hunt held Saturday afternoon on the Mount Ayr Gold and Country Club grounds, under the direction of the Auxiliary to Mount Ayr Post No. 8881, V.F.W.
Ringgold county has again been recognized as the first county in Iowa to reach its quota in the annual fund raising campaign of the American Cancer Society, announcement of which has been made by Mrs. Doyle
Andrew, county chairman.
Clifford Stevens, Denver, MO, who previosluy had been indicted on murder charges filed following the death of Gail (sic, should be Galen) Worthington, of Mount Ayr, on October 8, of last year, pleaded guilty to the charge of manslaughter Monday
in the circuit court in Grant City, MO. Stevens was sentenced to a seven-year prison term. Transcriber's Note: Clifford Stevens shot and killed 17-year-old Galen Worthington during an attempted watermelon raid at the Stevens
farm near Denver, Missouri.
