The Lamoni squadron of the Civil Air Patrol was represented Sunday in a state-wide practice air search and rescue mission at Burlington by Lt. Murray SHAHA and Lt. Henry GREEN of Kellerton. Lt. Dwayne DRUMMONDS and Lt. Wendell SMITH of Lamoni and Lt. Denzil WAUGH of Redding.

Bill MONAGHAN and Leo HACKER won the men's Hi-Lo golf tournament, which has been in progress the past several weeks on the Mount Ayr course. Runners-up in the tournament were Russ DAVENPORT and Walter PRITCHARD.

The 20-acre tract of land, located one mile south of Redding and owned by the late Albert A. NORRIS, was sold at public auction Monday to Grover C. and Estella E. WRIGHT for $1,340.

J. W. TRIGGS & Sons of Washington township have won a total of 350 ribbons at 1957 county and state fairs on their Poland China and Spotted Poland China Swine.

Mount Ayr's first city women's golf tournament, the finals of which were played last week, was won by Mrs. Willie CORLL. She defeated Mrs. Royce DAVIS 3 to 2 to win the title.

  • A son, born Sept. 11, to Mr. and Mrs. Ralph LONG, Mount Ayr.
