Two were seriously injured when the 1986 Chevrolet Camaro in which they were traveling west went out of control, into a
ditch, overturned and came to rest on its wheels in a field, covering a distance of 678 feet. Jeffrey Lynn WHITE of
Mount Ayr was life-flighted to Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines from the Ringgold County Hospital after a
12:10 a.m., June 8, accident three and one-half miles west of Mount Ayr on Highway 2. Janelle E. CAMPBELL of Shannon
City early this week was in the Ringgold County Hospital with injuries to her upper body and head and internal injuries.
There was an estimated $13,000 in damages to the car.
A $10 beef gift certi?cate was recently presented by the Ringgold County CowBelles to the parents of the first baby born
after Mother's Day. CowBelle president Chris BISHOP made the presentation to Rachel Elizabeth SIMS, and her mother,
Teresa. Rachel was born May 16 at Ringgold County Hospital and weighed seven pounds, four and one-fourth ounces.
Doug and Teresa SIMS, the new parents, live at New Hampton, MO.
Central Paving Corporation of Indianola has begun operating its ready mix concrete operation in Mount Ayr. Central
bought the plant that was formerly operated by
Midwest Ready-Mix Inc. of West Des Moines. This plant is located on East Columbus Street in Mount Ayr. Larry SWANK has
been named manager of the Mount Ayr plant.
