The formal opening of the new chapel and redecorated funeral parlos of the Rhoades Funeral Home will be held June 14 and 15,
with the opening of the new funeral home. T. S. RHOADES, who is 81 years of age, enters his fiftieth year of service as a
funeral director in Mount Ayr. Twenty-seven years ago, he was joined in the funeral business by his son, C. O. RHOADES. Associated
with the RHOADES is Paul VARNER, who came from Diagonal to Mount Ayr two years ago.
Paul T. FORD, a chiropractor in Indianapolis, Ind. since December, will begin practice soon in the offices of the late
Dr. D. D. TAFF.
Betty JOBE, a member of the Tingley Topperettes, has been elected president of the girls' 4-H clubs of Ringgold county. Other
officers are Mae CULVER, vice-president; Millicent WELLS, secretary-treasurer; and, Sharon BROWN, reporter-historian. During
the Rally Day program, Milt HENDERSON was initiated as an honorary member of the county 4-H organization.
Helen RUCKMAN, who has been a secretary in the local Social Welfare office for the last six years, has resigned her
position, effective as of June 6.
Cahterine CONANT has accpeted the position of kindergarten instructor in the Winterset schools, which duties she will
assume in September. Her mother, Mrs. Georgia DRAKE, is also a member of the faculty of the Winterset schools.
