John DAVIS, general engineering junior at Iowa State College from Mount Ayr, has been selected as a member of the college concert band. This year a seven day tour will take the band into Missouri, Kansas and Arkansas.

STUDENT AYR - On Tuesday and Thursday noons the Future Farmers of America have been practicing basketball in the new gym. Possible players on the team are Loren ELLIOTT, Leroy COLE, Bob WRIGHT, Junior JETER, Don STEPHENS, John STEPHENS, Dick BUCK, Paul DAVIS, James JACKSON, John A. STEPHENS and Donald STULL.

BIRTHS:

  • Friends in Mount Ayr received announcement last week of the arrival of a daughter, Judith Ann, to Mr. and Mrs. Harold KEPLINGER, of Grant township, on December 5. Weight, eight and one-half pounds.

  • Mr. and Mrs. Cecil GILLESPIE are the proud parnets of a baby boy, born last Monday at Bethany hospital.
