J. Mel Hickerson, who is in his second year at the State University of Iowa, was elected last week as a member of the board of directors of the Hawkeye, the university annual.
On the last day for paying taxes to prevent their becoming deliquent, County Treasurer Lawhead and his deputy, Zella Campbell, were kept busy from early morning until late at night writing tax receipts. The day's receipts,
not counting that which came by mail, was $10,723.56
HIGH SCHOOL NOTES: Executive committees have ben appointed by Prof. Fasold, who are to have final judgement in regard to all programs given.
BIRTHS
Mr. and Mrs. Austin Agee are the happy parents of a daughter, born Oct. 8.
A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Orville Harris on October 7. The little lady has been named Frances Lucile.
MALOY - W. L. Shay and wife are the proud parents of a baby boy, born October 3.
