The Sun Players and their Toby tent show will be in Mount Ayr from June 15 through the 19th. The large tent will be
erected on the lot east of the Sinclair oil station. Three plays will be presented each of the four nights beginning at
8 o'clock and the prices of admission are 50 cents for adults and 25 cents for children.
A total of 525 students has been enrolled for a swim lessions to date. Plans are being furthered for adults swimming
lessions, the schedule of which will appear in a later issue of the Record-News.
Over 150 entries from 12 saddle clubs participated in the Ringgold County Saddle Club horse show held Sunday night
in Mount Ayr.
Monte AKERS of Kellerton, and Marilyn PEPPMEIER of ShannonCity, winners of the recent essay contest sponsored by Rideta
Electric Cooperative, are among 63 youths from Iowa who this week are enjoying all-expense paid trips to the nation's
capital.
Joe SHEIL and Brian HUNTER went Sunday to Fort Dodge, where this week they are attending the twenty-sixth annual
Hawkeye Boys State. They joined more than 760 boys, all juniors in high school, for the week-long camp and study of the
fundamentals of municipal, county and state government.
Ringgold County 4-H girls entertained with their annual Mother-Daughter tea on Saturday in the school gymnasium in Mount
Ary. There were 200 mothers and daughters in attendance.
Kenny MARKLEY, 16-year-old sophomore in the Mount Ayr Community High School, was runnerup of the open golf tournament
played Sunday at the Mount Ayr Golf and Country Club. Eleven local golfers played in the championship flight.
