Rose Mary Higday began work Monday at the Pollard Store. Mrs. Harry Fugate, who has been working there, has resigned.
Joe Bill Slaughter left Monday for Montreal, Canada, to complete his training for radio service with the British government.
R. H. Herrington, who was born and reared on a farm near Delphos, completed 37 years of service on the Northwestern Railroad on November 30 when he made his last regular run from Sioux City to Omaha, NE. During recent years, Mr. Herrington has served as mail clerk and baggageman.
Mr. and Mrs. Forest L. Stewart and family have moved to Des Moines, where they will establish a home.
Donella Rhoades, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clair O. Rhoades, is a member of the Drake University choir which will present a program of Christmas music over the Mutual Broadcasting System on December 16.
ELLSTON - A business deal was transacted by which Richard Hartman became owner of the Geo. A. Dickson store.

TINGLEY - Mr. and Mrs. Everett Reynolds are the proud parents of a baby girl, born Friday night.
