The United States Postal Service has appointed David RICHARDS as the officer-in-charge of the Grand River Post Office. RICHARDS replaces James OVERHOLTZER, who had been postmaster there for 28 years. RICHARDS will serve a period of four to six months until a postmaster is appointed and then return to his previous position, a clerk-carrier, at the Mount Ayr Post Office.

Raymond DOSER, a former Kellerton farmer, was interviewed on WHO radio on Tuesday morning, October 1, about his giving up farming and his entry into the United Methodist ministry.

Ken JEZEK, one of the 10 character actors from the musical Cats, appeared Monday night, October 7, on the televison program Fame. He was one of those in the cat costume who could be recognized as one doing many acrobatics and flips and sliding down a 30-foot pole. He has been playing in Cats at the Schubert Theater in Los Angeles, CA since last December. Ken is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl JEZEK of California and the grandson of Mrs. David JEZEK of Clearview Nursing Home, Mount Ayr.
