The Democrat party nominee for sheriff was Mike SOBOTKA.
Scott FROHLICH was named the new elementary principal and is to replace Rob OLSEN. FROHLICH, who has been the
principal at Adair-Casey, was hired by the board after a series of meetings.
The Dance Connection recital drew quite a crowd. With the theme "Rockin' Through Time" the Dance Connection
put on a series of shows for Friday, Saturday and Sunday June 4-6 at the Mount Ayr Community high school. Boys and
girls from preschool through high school presented tap, jazz, ballet and gynmastic dances.
Raider baseball team won two out of six for the week. The Raiders beat Farragut and Murray, but fell short to Corning,
Bedford, Southeast Warren and Nodaway Valley. The Raiders are now 3-7 for the season record and 0-3 in the Pride of
Iowa Conference.
It was a busy week of action as the Mount Ayr Community Raiderett4es opened their season last week. After the dust had
settled from eight games in six days, the Raiderettes had a 1-7 season record and were 1-2 in Pride of Iowa conference
play.
