Mayor H. E. Bagley has made the following appoints: City attorney, Frank Lewis; health physician, Dr. J. W. Hill; marshals, A. E. Sacket and E. J. Humphreys; street commissioner, Lester Grindstaff; assistant street commissioner, Ted Defenbaugh.
Luther Beymer has been appointed assistant janitor for the Mount Ayr schools, following the resignation of L.O. Dennis who had filled that position since the first part of the year.
Myrtle Spurrier Stewart, of Des Moines, formerly of Mount Ayr, served as one of three judges in piano at the annual music festival held March 30 at Drake University in Des Moines. More than 300 young musicians participated in the contest.
The Kebaukee Camp Fire Girls have elected new officers as follows: President, Barbara Hayes; vice-president, Carol Barnett; treasurer, Marilyn Martin; secretary, Joan Lesan; scribe, Peggy Piper; and librarian, Joan Christiansen.
Nadine Allen and Harold E. Myers were united in marriage at the Presbyterian church in Maryville, MO., on March 25, with the Rev. Quisley officiating. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orr Allen, and the bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Minnie Myers. They have gone to housekeeping on the Myers farm southwest of Kellerton.
STUDENT AYR - Students learned Tuesday of the resignation of Harry G. Knapp, principal of the Mount Ayr high school, to accept a position in the junior high in Tulsa, OK. He will teach his final classes on April 1. Mr. Myers, English instructor will assume the position of principal for the remainder of the year.
