The board of supervisors is looking into the purchase of the former Clinton Motel site along Highway 2 and 169 as the location of the new jail and will have a geological study of thesite completed as a next step in the jail project.

Mount Ayr Community Raider bowlers will be taking part in the state bowling tournament in Des Moines Saturday. They are Kirk Ford, Chris Miller, Brandy Fekete, Ben Walters, Jesse Still and Jeremy Tipton.

Heidi Winkler of Mount Ayr has been named a Cardinal scholar athlete for the fall 2006 semester at William Jewell College in Liberty, MO. Winkler, a junior accounting major, participates in basketball.
