At the annual meeting of the board of directors of the Ringgold County Mutual Telephone company, J.W. Sheil was elected director for three years and president for one year.
Joe Klejch, of Diagonal, has been elected chairman of the Ringgold county board of supervisors to succeed J.T. Nichols. Salaries of all deputies of county officers were increased from $80 to $85. T. E. Martin was re-elected county engineer at an annual salary of $2,300; Roe Main was re-appointed director of relief with a salary of $100 per month.
J.B.Currie has been elected chairman of the county rationing board.
Evelyn Cochran, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Cochran, of Redding, and Gifford Knapp, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ariel Knapp, of Redding, were united in marriage December 30, in the Methodist parsonage in Maryville, MO. The Rev. W.H. Hackman, pastor of the Methodist church, officiated at the ceremony. They will be at home after March 1 on their farm on the Iowa-Missouri line, south of Hickory Grove.
Ruth Swigart has been appointed home demonstration agent for Jasper county and will begin her duties February 1. Miss Swigart was formerly employed in the Triple A office in Mount Ayr and more recently as home demonstration agent in Adams and Union counties.
BEACONSFIELD - Leon Dusenberry, who is employed by the Spahn-Rose Lumber company, has been transferred to Murray.

Born, to Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Ricker, of Washington township, on January 5, a daughter, Karen Marie. Weight, seven pounds.
