Investigation into the fire at the Mount Ayr Community High School auditorium is continuing, according to Ringgold county Sheriff Lyle Minnick.
The City of Mount Ayr proudly displayed one of its newest vehicles prior to the city council meeting Monday night. The 1991 Chevrolet fire truck cost nearly $80,000 but should give service the community for well over 20 years.
Mount Ayr has received a $1,500 "planning for survey" grant as a first step in saving historic resources in the community.
Nathan Snyder of Brooklyn, son of Ron and Billie Jean Snyder, grandson of Bill and Thelma Rusk of Mount Ayr, has been selected at attend the 1991 National Young Leaders Conference in Washington, D.C.
Nearly 100 children enjoyed the Cooperative Vacation Bible School Day Camp held this week at Poe Hollow.
A motorcycle passenger, Frankie DeBoard Johnson, 27, of Mount Ayr, is reported to be in serious condition at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City after a motorcycle accident on the "old Highway 34" three miles
east of Creston.
