Osceola attorneys Ward REYNOLDSON and Larry Van WERDEN, who represent the Mable McCULLOUGH RICH estate, have confirmed this week the sale of the Clinton Motel in Mount Ayr to Paul RAMSEY of Los Angeles, CA, effective April 1. According to RAMSEY, the acquisition of the Clinton Motel will not alter his intentions to be a major investor in the proposed Mount Ayr Inn and Suites to be constructed on a three and one-half-acre site on the northeast corner on Highways 2 and 169 in Mount Ayr. The Mount Ayr investor group is under the direction of Joe MUPRHY and Phil BURMEISTER. Construction on the new motel is scheduled to commence in 2005.

Tiffany WIMER, a Mount Ayr community sixth grader, placed first in the fifth annual Iowa Girls State Wrestling tournament, sponsored by the United State Girls Wrestling Association held in Gilbert recently. WIMER wrestled in the 125 pound class for junior high age girls. This was her second time in winning the tournament. WIMER is the daughter of Michael and Shelly WIMER of Mount Ayr and the granddaughter of Jerry and Karen WIMER and Allen and Shirley DAVIDSON.
