Some of the top winners in the Tingley Halloween fun night Thursday were Rachael and Amy DERSCHEID who took first
place in the children's doubles category with look-alike bug costumes; Travis CASE who topped the contest for youngsters
in fourth through eighth grade with his colorful alien looking for a trip to Mars; and, Scott FARRELL who topped the
children up to third grade with his Dracula costume.
A new fair secretary will be needed for the Ringgold County Fair following the resignation of Merritt TRIGGS. TRIGGS,
who has been fair board secretary for 24 years, resigned because of increased responsibilites as president of the
Iowa State Fair board of directors.
A Ringgold county 4-Her, Bobbi HUNT of Diagonal, has received a national award of commendation, given by the National
Safety Congress, in a youth session held October 29 in New Orleans, LA. The plaque and trip to the five-day meeting
(Oct. 25-29) were awarded Miss HUNT for a safety project. Bobbi and her twin sister, Billi, who assisted her, are
14 and freshmen at Diagonal high school.
