Ellen Wilson, who for the past month and a half has been employed under Civil Service in Washington, D. C. , will be happy to learn that she has been appointed a private secretary in the same offices and will receive a substantial increase in salary.
Lawrence E. Taggart, son of Mrs. Evelyn Taggart, and Hazel Roach, daughter of George Roach, of Mount Ayr, were united in marriage November 5, in Grant City, MO. Mr. Taggart left Wednesday for Camp Bowie, Texas, to resume his military training.
Mrs. Earl Home, Red Cross chairman, has appointed the following chairmen in Ringgold county: Diagonal, Mrs. Ivan Crew: Beaconsfield, Mrs. K. B. Scott; Tingley, Mrs. J. A. McIntosh; Kellerton, Mrs. Lennie Green; Delphos, Ms. Boyd Ethington; Redding, Mrs. John King; Maloy, Mrs. J. B.
Hull; Ellston, Bertha Needham, and Mount Ayr: Mrs. Frank Mowry; rural districts, Mrs. C. C. Brimmer and Mrs. Roy Lepley.
Doris Main began work November 1 as secretary to Roe Main, Ringgold county director of relief. Miss Main will fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of her sister, LaViece.
STUDENT AYR - Juniors who sold the most tickets for their class play were Retha May, Barton McAninch, Jerry Butler and Wayne Walters.
BIRTHS:
Born, to Mr. and Mrs. Homer Johnston, November 2, a son, Roger Dale. Weight, 10 1/2 pounds.
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Kimball are the parents of a son, Ivan Everett, born October 20, at the Decatur County Hospital in Leon. Weight, eight pounds.
