Mary LONGFELLOW, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dick LONGFELLOW of Clearfield, was crowned homecoming queen, and
Brian COOK, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack COOK of Mount Ayr was named king at ceremonies in Mount Ayr. Other homecming
events included a football jersey auction which raised $651 for football program use, a cow lotto contest
and the parade with the theme of "Field of Dreams." Ed STILL was parade marshall.
A new stadium building underneath the north bleachers at the football field has been built as part of a three
year plan of school plant improvement. Plans for the building were drawn up by Chet ROED'S drafting class.
Students in construction class worked on the building and Ron LANDPHAIR'S students did some of the electrical work.
Mount Ayr Raiderettes volleyball players won a conference victory against Wayne this week. Angie MAIN put in 10 of
11 serves with two aces. Anne ROTERT made 10 of 14 with four aces and Nicky CROSS had 9 of 13 with three aces.
Mary LONGFELLOW spiked 10 of 17 for the Raiderettes.
