Mount Ayr city council voted to work with the Place's store to develop a plan for store expansion and a new city
parking lot. Under preliminary plans the city would acquire to the present Mount Ayr Mill and Feed building and a
small portion of a lot to build a city parking lot across the street north of Place's.
The 35th annual concert of the Ringgold Singers is scheduled Friday, May 6. Directed by John STANDERFORD with accompanist
sherri HYMBAUGH,the theme for this year's concert will be "Nothing Can Stop Me Now."
Robert and Elizabeth LYNCH will be honored for their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house. Elizabeth BUTLER and
Robert LYNCH were married on May 7, 1944 by Rev. Harold SMITH in the First Christian Church in Mount Ayr.
Heather Nichole JOHNSON became the bride of Lee Howard MARTIN in a double-ring wedding ceremony performed by Pastors
Phil and Doris KINTON at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, 1994 at the Mount Ayr First Christian Church.
New members initiated during an April 11 regular meeting of the Mount Ayr American Legion Auxiliary were Freda SHIELDS,
Charlene FORD, Betty SNETHEN, Dianna HENSLEY and Catherine COULSON.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at the Dari Sweet in Mount Ayr to welcome the new owners, Jerry and Peggy OVERHOLSER.
Mount Ayr Community Raider Chip BRUNDAGE placed 12th out of the 24 discus throwers who took part in the discus throwers
who took part in the discus at the high school division of the Drake Relays Saturday. He threw the discus 129' 11" in the throw.
chosen for Boys State in June are Matt PETIT and Chip BRUNDAGE.
