The fabulous Boradway Harlan Clowns will compete with the Mount Ayr Community Jaycees on January 11, in the local school gymnasium in one of the highlights of the current basketball season.

Earl Wheeler, Deomocrat of Benton township, was elected chairman of the Ringgold county board of supervisors during the re-organization meeting held Tuesday.

G. Dale Herrington, high school athletic director and instructor, will serve as Ringgold county chairman of the 1967 Heart fund campaign, it was announced today by Jack Schroeder, president of the Iowa Heart association. The campaign, to be conducted throughout February, has a goal of $1,500.

Jeff Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Johnson, of Kellerton, has been appointed as a page in the senate of the 1967 session of the Iowa general assembly.

BIRTHS:

Alice Louise Pence, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Pence, was the first New Year's Day baby born in the Ringgold County hospital. The baby, delivered at 10:04 a.m. by Dr. Frank Matteson, of Grant City, MO., weighed seven pounds, 15 ounces.
