Ringgold County voters when they went to the pools Tuesday gave a nod to George W. Bush for president; Chuck
Grassley for state senator; Steve King for fifth District Congressman; Jeff Angelo for Iowa senate and Cecil
DOLECHECK for Iowa Representative. On the local level, they chose incumbents Wayne KEMERY and Royce DREDGE
for county supervisors; Mike SOBOTKA for county sheriff; and Renda PAXSON for county auditor.
Four former Mount Ayr Community high school FFA members were named American Farmer degree winners at the 77th annual
national FFA convention held in Louisville, KY, last week. They were Jacque BAKER, Brian ENGLAND, Adam TRIGGS
and Brad WILSON.
Winning the float division at the Tingley Saturday night was an elaborate float with a pirate ship, fog and more.
Kristy JARRED helped organize the float which had riders including Ashley, Levi, Tyler and Kristy JARRED; Tristan,
Hannah and Julie ACKLEY; Caroline PRIEST, Josh CASE and Alexis and Tanner BEDIER.
Charles PICKERING took his dog, Billy Bob, to a national contest in Louisiana recently. Billy Bob ended up taking
second in the nation in the derby endurance contest and third in the nation in the derby speed and drive contest.
