Mount Ayr Community state speech qualifiers included Amanda HYNEK, Jared BECK, Josephine HEGER and Dustin ADAMS. Digaonal state speech qualifiers included Nikki GOODALE, Adam Auten and Whitney WOLF. All received divivion 1 ratings at the district contest Saturday.

Raider wrestler Kevin TRULLINGER took third place in the Class IA 215 pound weight class at the state wrestling tournament in Des Moines Saturday.

The Mount Ayr American Legion post will be celebrating the American Legion's 85th birthday with a special party Saturday, March 6.

Tyler HOSFIELD, a Mount Ayr Community junior high eighth grader, placed fifth at the Liberty National Wrestling Tournament held in Kansas City, MO recently. HOSFIELD is the son of Randy and Stephanie HOSFIELD of Diagonal. He is the grandson of George and Naomi HOSFIELD of Tingley and Doyle and Jane SAVILLE and Ila SAVILLE of Bedford.
