John Irving has been re-elected president of the Ringgold County Fair Association.

STUDENT AYR - Chas. J. Lewis will serve as toastmaster at the annual football banquet to be served tonight. Boys who will receive letters presented by their coach, Carl Firebaugh, are Junior Jeter, Bob Richards, Dick Johnston, Donald Stull, Lyle Dailey, John Hayes, Bob Johnston, Neil Thomas, Bob Allyn, George Moffatt, Donald Kidney, Bob Maley, Tom Teale, Doyle Denhart, Barton McAninch an Donald Guthrie.

STUDENT AYR - Speakers who will represent the Mount Ayr High School in the Newton debate tournament are Bob Spence, Bob Wilson, Jean Prentis and Ruth Euritt, negative; and Curtis Christiansen, Bob Allyn, Julia Sheumaker and Ruth Wheelock, affirmative.

Myrna Morse, daughter of Bert Morse, of Ellston, and Clay W. Seaton, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Seaton, of Redding, were united in marriage November 29, in Creston. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. H. E. Cole, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Attendants of the bride and groom were Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Saltzman. They are at home in Mount Ayr, where he is employed with the Works Progress Administration.

Vesta Michael, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Michael, of Mount Ayr, and Allan Allyn, only son of Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Allyn, of this city, were united in marriage November 26, at the First Methodist Church in Des Moines, with the Rev. C. Clifford Bacon officiating. The couple will live in Ames, where he is employed by Iowa State College.

BIRTHS:

  • MALOY - A daughter was born November 27, to Mr. and Mrs. Cleo Lynch at the Mercy Hospital in Des Moines.
